Key Responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineering Technician

Perform scheduled maintenance tasks on mechanical systems, ensuring adherence to company protocols and standards, including various pumps, control systems, automatic valves, and chemical handling equipment. Diagnose equipment failures and execute necessary repairs. Offer technical guidance, leveraging current technical expertise. Facilitate training or provide assistance to technical apprentices as needed.

Work Schedule

Standard working hours are 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 3:36 pm, with additional compensation for standby duties.

All necessary tools, personal protective equipment (PPE), and transportation will be supplied.

Qualifications and Skills Required

NVQ Level 3 or an equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering. Must be physically capable of working in confined spaces, with successful completion of required training. Awareness of health and safety regulations is essential. Participation in a 24/7 on-call standby rotation will be necessary after adequate training and evaluation, with additional remuneration. A valid driving license is mandatory.

Benefits Offered

Competitive salary of up to £36,800 per annum, based on experience and qualifications. 24 days of annual leave, increasing to 28 days with length of service, in addition to public holidays. Contributory pension scheme with a maximum employer contribution of 12% based on employee contributions. Standard working hours: 38 hours per week.
