Job Summary

DAC Beachcroft is seeking an experienced Associate to join our Bristol office. The ideal candidate will have 5-9+ years of post-qualification experience and a strong background in clinical negligence law.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a challenging caseload of defendant clinical negligence work on behalf of NHS Resolution, including drafting pleadings, witness statements, and letters of response.
  • Conduct face-to-face negotiations and mediation of claims, and prepare counter schedules.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing commercially focused legal advice and guidance.
  • Provide supervision and coaching to junior fee earners.
  • Make a significant contribution to non-fee earning activities, such as knowledge sharing, training, client seminars, and business development.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, including financial management of files and billing regimes.
  • Handle confidential information in accordance with the firm's data security protocols.

Requirements

  • A strong ability to adopt a commercial perspective and approach legal issues in a practical and methodical way.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage a variety of clinical negligence claims simultaneously.
