About the Role

The Technical Manager is responsible for overseeing the development of fire safety products and providing quality assurance for current fire detection products. Responsibilities include reviewing building control consultations, providing customer support, training the sales team, and developing business engagement campaigns. The Technical Manager will also work on improving product quality through collaboration with other departments and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and developing new fire detectors and ancillaries
  • Resolving problems and managing engineering change processes
  • Supporting product team to ensure safety and quality
  • Identifying continuous improvements in products
  • Providing training and support to fill knowledge gaps
  • Offering on-site customer support and CPD training

Requirements:

  • Experience in residential fire industry
  • Degree in Design Engineering
  • Knowledge of fire legislation
  • Experience in manufacturing fire detection equipment
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
  • Attention to detail and ability to multitask
  • Experience in the fire industry at a technical level
  • Self-motivated with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to present to large groups
  • Ability to simplify complex information
