The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of the design team, working on a variety of projects from initial conception to installation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Designing whole machinery and individual components
  • Providing a 'cradle to grave' solution for clients
  • Utilizing CAD software, including Solid Works
  • Producing 3D and 2D drawings, with a focus on 3D designs
  • Attending site visits and consulting with clients to understand project requirements
  • Creating detailed workshop drawings and overseeing the fabrication process
  • Assisting with the selection and purchasing of components
  • Managing multiple projects and ensuring timely delivery
  • Collaborating with clients and internal teams to plan installations

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience with Autodesk Inventor
  • A general understanding of engineering principles and problem-solving skills
  • Experience within the food processing, conveyor systems, or sheet metal industry
  • Experience designing special purpose machinery and building prototypes
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to manage your own workload
