Job Title: Engineering Manager – Systems Engineering (Architectural Modelling)

Location: Flexible working arrangements available across various locations, including Barrow-in-Furness, Filton, Frimley, Brough, Portsmouth, Weymouth, and Manchester.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Systems Engineering (Architectural Modelling) team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of all modelling/architecture artefacts, ensuring key programme objectives for cost, schedule, and availability are embedded in the SSNR whole boat model.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the delivery of modelling/architecture artefacts
  • Embed key programme objectives in the SSNR whole boat model
  • Engage with stakeholders within BAE Systems, the MoD, and key suppliers
  • Support the development and well-being of your engineering team
  • Lead the whole boat architectural modelling team in establishing and realising the programme's approach to MBSE
  • Manage and develop employees to lead engineering support contracts
  • Work closely with the customer to establish a guiding mind for our approach to model-based systems engineering

Requirements:

  • BSc degree in Engineering or equivalent STEM courses
  • Experience demonstrating effective leadership qualities with a proven track record of responsible management and leadership
  • Experience managing technical specialists
  • Proven track record in systems and model-based system engineering
  • Experience in supplier and customer engagement
  • MSc in an engineering or STEM-related subject
  • Experience within the Defence sector
  • Submarines domain knowledge
  • Chartered Engineer
