About the Role:
Cedar is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in supporting the profitable business growth plan of our UK business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts to meet local and group timeframes.
- Support the Finance Director in creating and maintaining trading models and forecasts of the business to enable the Senior Leadership Team to accurately predict periodic and full-year results based on trading performance.
- Connect key operational metrics of the business, such as sales growth, project profitability, capital investment appraisal, and new project strategies.
- Participate in driving all aspects of cost management, including setting detailed budgets for Senior Leadership Team leaders and their teams, and identifying opportunities to reduce costs and introduce efficiencies.
- Manage all aspects of UK cash flow management, including driving the capital investment strategy.
- Deliver annual statutory accounts, managing relationships with banks, auditors, advisors, and other stakeholders.
- Ensure the correct processes are in place across Corporation Tax, VAT, CIS, Payroll, and other areas.
Requirements:
- Be a qualified accountant with relevant post-qualification experience and an accounting and commercial background.
- Have prior experience as a Financial Controller (or similar) in a related sector that relies on project accounting, such as construction, advertising, engineering, or professional services.
- Enjoy working with an Operations team that is keen to grow and improve how they work.
- Be comfortable working with immature processes and controls but in the knowledge that they will be required to design, embed, and own workable solutions.
- Desire a fast-moving environment with real growth potential.
