Position Overview:

Westlakes Recruit is seeking experienced Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) Quantity Surveyors to join our dynamic team. This role presents a unique opportunity to engage with a rapidly expanding organization.

Key Responsibilities:

Your primary focus will be on managing the financial aspects of various projects to ensure that contract margins are met while providing exceptional service to our clients.

  • Conduct interim valuations, manage variations, and prepare final accounts.
  • Compile internal weekly progress reports detailing hours worked and earned.
  • Oversee subcontract payment certificates and perform cost value reconciliations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to contractual notices for effective contract administration.
  • Perform take-offs to identify changes in project drawings and construction issues.
  • Monitor subcontract costs against budget allowances and labor allocation sheets.
  • Utilize internal project databases to track labor, materials, and costs.
  • Collaborate with project planners to achieve payment milestones.
  • Implement risk management strategies.
  • Manage subcontract orders and project tenders in conjunction with relevant managers.
  • Ensure material purchases align with tender allowances.
  • Keep senior management informed of any cost overruns or delivery risks.
  • Undertake additional duties as required for the effective execution of the Quantity Surveyor role.
Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or suitable professional qualifications.

Essential Experience:
  • Experience in a multi-discipline contracting environment.
Desirable Experience:
  • Familiarity with NEC contract formats.
  • Experience working within framework contracts.
  • Proficiency in contract administration tools such as CEMAR.
Skills & Knowledge:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively at senior levels.
  • Proven negotiation and influencing skills.
