About the Company

ATS Recruitment represents a prominent Approved Inspector that provides tailored building control services to meet client needs. The company is dedicated to delivering solutions throughout the construction process, from design to completion.

Position Overview

Due to ongoing growth, our client is seeking Building Control Surveyors in the specified region.

In this role, you will work within a designated geographical area, fostering relationships with clients by offering proactive building regulations plans and conducting site assessments and inspections across a variety of projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct inspections of buildings under construction or conversion, collaborating closely with developers and builders to ensure compliance with Building Regulations.
  • Perform plan checks to ensure adherence to building regulations.
  • Manage your workload effectively, ensuring a responsive, professional service while maximizing on-site time.
  • Document inspection details in the database and communicate feedback to clients.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with surveyors and management regarding technical issues to uphold standards and procedures.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to developers, clients, and builders.
  • Perform additional duties as required while building professional relationships.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Preferably registered at BSR Level 2-3 or on the path to registration.
  • Excellent client management skills, technical proficiency, organization, and self-motivation are essential.
  • Full membership or nearing chartership of professional organizations such as MRICS, MCABE, MCIOB, MCICIOW, or similar in the relevant Building Control discipline.
  • Able to conduct inspections at all stages of construction.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in building control, including plan checking and site inspections, as well as warranty, quality, or defect resolution experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Building Regulations, associated legislation, and construction standards.
  • Familiarity with general insurance principles and terminology is advantageous.
