At ISP Foster Care, we are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Fostering Advisor to join our team. As a Fostering Advisor, you will play a critical role in supporting our foster parents and children in their journey towards a brighter future.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide regular visits to foster parents to offer advice and information on support services available to them.
- Offer phone support to foster parents to discuss general progress and share ideas and strategies.
- Coordinate training for foster parents to enhance their skills and knowledge.
- Respite and transport arrangements to ensure the well-being of children and young people.
- Support children and young people in their leisure activities to promote their physical and emotional development.
- Undertake other duties, tasks, or projects as requested by the Registered Manager.
- Understanding of Fostering regulations and standards, including the Children's Act and Fostering Service National Minimum Standards.
- Some first-hand knowledge or experience of Fostering, ideally as a foster parent or as part of a Fostering family.
- Previous experience or a desire to work in a therapeutic model of child care.
- Previous experience of providing support to foster parents and young people.
- Ability to recognize people who foster as professionals and challenge appropriately where necessary.
- Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience of using spreadsheets and databases.
- Experience of planning, organizing, and prioritizing workloads to meet deadlines and service requirements.
- Commitment to developing positive working relationships with other staff, outside agencies, children, and young people, and foster parents.
- A full driving license and unrestricted access to your own vehicle.
