Role Summary:

This is an exceptional opportunity to take on a Lead Procurement Strategist position within a reputable organization that is expanding its procurement capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in managing complex procurement initiatives, particularly within the public sector. A solid understanding of procurement regulations and frameworks is essential for success in this role.

The position will involve a strategic focus on enhancing value and minimizing risks across diverse projects, with the responsibility of overseeing a team of three procurement professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead procurement initiatives across various categories, including Facilities Management, Repairs, Construction, IT, Sales, and Marketing.
  • Provide a high-quality, customer-centric procurement service that is responsive to organizational needs.
  • Oversee and coordinate the procurement strategy and forward planning.
  • Design and implement effective sourcing strategies aimed at achieving cost efficiencies and added value.
  • Manage and nurture strategic supplier relationships while leading commercial negotiations.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of Public Procurement Regulations and internal policies.
  • Direct high-value, intricate procurement projects in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Establish and execute essential processes to enhance the procurement function.
  • Guide a team of skilled procurement professionals, fostering their growth and development.
  • Champion the procurement agenda through a collaborative business partnering approach.

Candidate Profile:

  • Demonstrated end-to-end procurement experience across both indirect and direct services.
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Background in public sector procurement, particularly in regulated environments.
  • Thorough knowledge of Public Contract Regulations is required.
  • Experience in developing and implementing third-party management frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Highly organized, process-oriented, and adept at prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage projects with minimal oversight.
  • Commercially savvy and financially astute.
