Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Strategic Financial Planning Lead to join our team at University Hospitals Plymouth NHS Trust. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for leading the Financial Planning and Analysis function, ensuring that our annual operating plan and longer-term plans and forecasts support the delivery of our objectives.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a financial planning framework that aligns with NHS National Planning and Contracting guidance.
  • Translate operational plans into revenue budgets, funded establishments, and activity plans.
  • Develop and maintain models for short, long, and medium-term financial planning analysis.
  • Develop and maintain key financial assumptions and alignment with contract income allocations, operational performance, and workforce.
Key Requirements
  • Highly developed and specialist proven knowledge of health service financial management, statistics, and information analysis.
  • Significant post-qualification demonstrable experience working in a senior managerial and strategic level post.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, with ability to communicate highly complex and sensitive information to large groups.
  • Strong leadership skills with a natural ability to manage and inspire teams.
