In this role, reporting directly to the Factory Manager, the Technical & Quality Manager will play a crucial role within the site management team, taking the lead in enhancing quality and technical performance to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the effective operation of quality systems to ensure compliance with all applicable guidelines and standards.
  • Ensure that produced goods meet the established quality criteria and due diligence checks, including specifications, labeling, weight and measures, temperature control, and food safety standards.
  • Develop and maintain product specifications through retailer portals and internal systems.
  • Maintain exemplary housekeeping and hygiene standards on-site in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
  • Facilitate a continuous improvement program across the site and lead investigations and enhancement plans for technical and quality KPIs.
  • Engage with customer representatives and regulatory bodies, coordinating and leading site visits and audits.
  • Promote and implement enhancements aligned with the overarching technical strategy of the group.
  • Identify, establish, and execute quality objectives for the site.
  • Design and implement training and mentoring programs for technical staff to support their development and progression.
  • Establish and maintain an internal auditing system that adapts to the evolving requirements of our customers efficiently.
  • Develop and sustain a site HACCP program.
  • Conduct trend analysis and statistical reporting to support quality improvements, supplemented by on-site laboratory and in-process analyses under the technical function's oversight.
  • Formulate and implement specifications for raw materials, processing parameters, and final products, ensuring incoming materials conform to specifications.
  • Collaborate with the group development manager and contribute to new product development projects as needed.
  • Actively participate in the site management team and assist with operational and environmental objectives.
  • Manage the on-site analytical laboratory.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of management experience within a food quality and technical department.
  • Experience leading customer and accreditation audits.
  • Strong knowledge of developing, implementing, and reviewing Quality Management Systems (QMS) and HACCP monitoring plans.
  • Proficient in IT applications.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in food science.
  • Familiarity with microbiological and analytical analysis.
  • Understanding of laboratory environments.
