Job Title: Clinical Engineering Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Engineering Technician to join our team at the Biomedical Engineering Association of Ireland. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and maintenance of medical devices and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues with medical devices.
  • Provide maintenance services for electro-medical equipment, ensuring it meets safety, accuracy, and reliability standards.
  • Assist in the coordination and implementation of preventative maintenance and safety programs.
  • Advise on the selection, specification, acceptance testing, commissioning, and safety of new equipment and services.
  • Participate in the implementation and use of the SVHG Maintenance Management and Asset Register System (ECRI-AIMS).
  • Support nursing, medical, and technical staff in the implementation of technology involved in patient care.
  • Participate in education and training, and provide user/staff training as necessary.
  • Actively participate in accreditation programs, such as JCI and HIQA.
Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of HIQA Standards and associated HSE protocols.
  • Support and promote sustainable energy, water, and waste initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety requirements and regulations.
  • Perform routine QA checking and participate in risk management occurrence form management reviews.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and demonstrate commitment to continuous professional development.
