BOSS Energy Consulting - Operations Electrical Support Specialist

BOSS Energy Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Operations Electrical Support Specialist to join their team at their facility in East Anglia. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and servicing the plant, conducting safe start-up for DAC modules, and maintaining and reporting on sustained operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and service the plant at the facility, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Conduct safe start-up procedures for DAC modules, adhering to strict safety protocols.
  • Maintain and report on sustained operations, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Follow and demonstrate a strong health and safety culture, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Assist with the execution of the pilot plant experimental plan, working closely with the Plant Operations Manager.
  • Report back on unit performances, highlighting regular failure modes and providing input for product improvement.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise, maintaining accurate records for required interventions.
  • Conduct failure analysis, using multiple methodologies to identify root causes and propose improvement plans.
  • Execute maintenance routines, ensuring the plant remains in optimal working condition.
  • Deputise for the Plant Operations Manager in inducting site visitors, as required.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years' experience in the electrical industry, with a strong understanding of operations and maintenance.
  • Experience operating and repairing electrical units, with a focus on commissioning, start-up, and maintenance.
  • Strong understanding of Reliability, Availability, Maintenance (RAM) and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
  • Lean operational certificate, such as six sigma or equivalent, and continuous improvement training experience.
  • Engineering Level 3 qualification and suitable safety accreditation, such as NEBOSH.

Nice to Have

  • Experience running and repairing Research & Development pilot facilities.
  • Good understanding of hazard and risk identification, with a focus on mitigating potential risks.
