About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at North Middlesex University Hospital NHS Trust. As a rotational band 6 occupational therapist, you will have the opportunity to work in various clinical settings, including Enhanced Recovery, Medical Specialties, Admission Avoidance Team, Acute Medicine for Older People, and Acute Stroke Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist occupational therapy assessment and intervention for allocated patient caseload in relevant clinical settings.
  • Support and clinically supervise junior staff, including rotational band 5 occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants, and OT students on clinical placements.
  • Participate in service developments, audits, and service reviews, and work collaboratively with other health and social care professionals to facilitate timely and safe discharges/preventing hospital admissions.
  • Deputise for Team Leader in their absence.
Person Specification

We are looking for an individual with:

  • Diploma/Degree/Masters in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
  • Experience in using standardized and structured assessments, and implementing specialized OT treatment approaches.
  • Experience of goal setting and evaluating the outcomes of OT treatment.
  • Experience of working as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and identifying ways to facilitate effective team working.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly (verbal and written) and to overcome barriers to communication.
  • Ability to manage own time and a clinical caseload, and to describe ways of prioritizing work.
