Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Transportation Manager to join our team at Prax. As a key member of our logistics department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant operation of our fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve fleet safety and compliance
  • Manage HR processes, including recruitment, training, and performance management
  • Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and near-misses
  • Liaise with unions and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication
  • Implement measures to improve systems of work and ensure compliance with regulations
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
  • Provide leadership and direction to the transport team, including coaching and mentoring
  • Manage the production and compilation of risk assessments for delivery sites
  • Communicate effectively with other stakeholders, including drivers, office staff, and external partners
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement change to streamline operations

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in road transport, including fuel transport
  • Strong geographical knowledge and understanding of transportation networks
  • Financial management experience and ability to manage budgets
  • National or International CPC qualification
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and experience, including experience working in a highly unionized environment
  • Strong administrative and communication skills
