Job Description Summary

Our client, a world-leading provider of integrated systems for commercial, military, business, and general aviation aircraft, is actively recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineer to join their PCB team in Cheltenham.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Manufacturing or Process Engineer to leverage their engineering expertise to enhance manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing and reviewing procedures
  • Identifying and delivering process improvements to resolve complex shop floor issues
  • Supporting delivery plans with overall business awareness
  • Ensuring quality and compliance standards are met

With a 40% volume increase expected by the end of 2024, this role comes with the challenge of integrating new equipment into the manufacturing process and further developing process controls.

Key Responsibilities

Responsible for designated overall process controls within manufacturing processes.

Define and control production processes, including tooling and equipment.

Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new products, tools, or equipment.

Drive accountability through daily/weekly operating rhythms to ensure ME-driven tasks are completed in line with production requirements.

Evaluate quality control processes and make recommendations for improvements.

Analyze and report on production processes, methods, schedules, downtime, cycle times, availability of machines, and waste management.

Key stakeholder during new equipment selection in line with process and industry best practice (CAPEX Approvals).

Ensure that the organization's manufacturing processes comply with relevant policies and regulations.

Coordinate maintenance and repair services to keep production equipment operational.

Identify/evaluate improvement opportunities.

Desired Experience

PCB-specific manufacturing experience.

Experience handling and dispensing (manual and/or automated) of low viscosity fluids.

Experience in process engineering control plans, process capability analysis, and problem-solving.

HNC/HND or equivalent experience.

Knowledge of First Article Inspection and Engineering Change Management.

Experience in Aerospace, Military, Manufacturing, or similar sectors.

Lean manufacturing and NPI introduction experience.

Required Experience

Minimum 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment.

Ability to program manufacturing equipment.

Demonstrated ability to manage project/challenging workloads.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.
