Aircraft Tooling Officer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Aircraft Tooling Officer to join our team at a global engine support company based in London Heathrow. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating daily tooling loan return, delivery, and dispatch operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage tooling serviceability, maintenance, inspection, calibration, repair, upgrade, modification, kitting, and tooling dispensing to operational requirements.
  2. Support tool loan process from customer requests, emails, phone calls, physical inspection, photo-taking, dispatch note (DN)/commercial invoice (CI) preparation, and import/export customs clearance with vendors.
  3. Support a team/external vendor to manage delivery, dispatch, and shipping operations for tooling.
  4. Jointly lead the selection of freight forwarders and delivery service providers and monitor their performance to ensure business requirements are met.
  5. Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, international shipping and customs regulations, and company/customer procedures.
  6. Plan and execute processes and procedures to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards of the workplace.
  7. Plan, structure, and organize logistics and shipping functions to meet business and development requirements.
  8. Conduct continuous review, plan, and evaluate spare delivery and shipping activities, workflow, cost effectiveness, KPI achievement, staff performance, and development.
  9. Monitor the execution and effectiveness of corrective and preventive action plans in response to quality audit findings, customer complaints, IORs, and MORs.
Requirements
  1. Worked in an engine or aircraft maintenance organization in an engineering role.
  2. Worked in an engine or aircraft maintenance organization in Stores & Logistics.
  3. Computer and MS Office capable to a high level.
  4. Familiarization with Envision and AMOS for tooling inventory control is preferable.
  5. Possess folk lifting, tug driving, and crane operation approvals/experience is preferable.
