About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Acute Medicine Consultant to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading medical teams, and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversight of the medical take in ED, MAU, and SDEC, including post-take ward rounds
  • Care of patients admitted to acute medicine wards, completing daily ward rounds
  • Support, education, and supervision of doctors in training and Advanced Clinical Practitioners
  • Contributions to departmental governance processes, including M&M and incident reporting and reviews, as well as service development
  • Administration related to patient care, including prompt review and communication of patient results, with support of our admin team
  • Maintenance of good working relationships with the whole MDT
