Head of Procurement Opportunity

MRK Associates is working exclusively with a highly recognised client in Luton, Bedfordshire to find a Head of Procurement to join their team on a permanent basis.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced procurement leader to work in a newly designed position in a growing, well-recognised business where they can make a real difference as the function evolves.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the transformation plan to improve the Procurement function
  • Maintain an engaging approach from the Procurement function to the business
  • Adhere to the Procurement policy and procedure across the business
  • Work in partnership with operational budget holders and manage Procurement and contracting activity, utilising the Procurement system
  • Maintain and manage the contract database, e-Sourcing tool and protocol for ongoing supplier management, including the creation, rationalisation and management of "preferred suppliers"
  • Work with the business managers to develop KPI's, support the business managers in its endeavors to monitor suppliers performance in line with the specific KPIs, contractual obligations and service level agreements
  • Report and monitor supplier performance
About the Client

The client is a growing, well-recognised business with exciting plans for the future. They are currently in the process of implementing a new Procurement system, Jaggaer, with the aim that improved processes will allow the Procurement Team to spend more time on higher value-add activities, such as Category Management and Contract Management.

Requirements

The successful individual will ideally be a CIPS qualified Head of Procurement who has lead teams and functions in the past. Previous experience of working with FTS and understanding the FTS process on Public Sector procurement contracts is essential.
