Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Engineering Team Leader to drive improvements in production efficiencies, maintenance, and improvement programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing best practices, team development, and personal development, while supporting the Engineering strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Asset Care: Uphold, develop, and deliver robust Asset care through professional maintenance, ensuring the optimal performance of equipment and machinery.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Report near misses when identified, ensure health and safety actions are closed out, and review downtime data to focus engineering support.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Conduct RCA on machinery failures, implement long-term fixes, and review current PPMs to align with manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Team Management: Support and develop stores and spare parts/critical spares stock requirements for asset care, improve and sustain GMP and workshop standards, and own tool box audits.
  • Communication and Leadership: Lead shift handover meetings and shift reports, plan and execute shutdown maintenance requirements, and support weekend planning and attend weekend meetings.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Deliver team briefs and business reports on a weekly/monthly basis, ensure time and attendance of engineers is upheld, and provide stand-in support for Area Engineering Manager where applicable.
  • Hands-on Support: Provide hands-on engineering breakdown support, support the engineering budget through delivering cost-effective maintenance, and act as H&S Champion ensuring safe working of your team and others at all times.
  • Scope and Accountability: Responsible for ensuring the engineering team is managed and in full control, ensuring all Company policies and procedures are enforced and adhered to.
  • Key Performance Indicators (KPI's):
    • Recommended spares for each line availability
    • Engineer workload and development
    • PPM compliance
    • Use of integrated management system
    • Site downtime reduction as per target

Requirements:

  • 18th edition
  • Experience of managing teams
  • Experience of working in a food factory environment would be advantageous
  • Fully complete apprenticeship is desirable, with packing experience
  • Basic computer literacy
  • Able to communicate and motivate others
  • Understanding of internal systems and processes
  • Understanding of health and safety requirements
  • Self-driven, results-oriented with a positive disposition
  • Flexible approach to work and willingness to undertake overtime during busy periods

Management Ability: The post holder must be able to work under pressure both as part of a team and on their own initiative.
