About the Role
The Trafford Council is seeking to recruit highly skilled and dedicated EHC Coordinators to join our team. As an EHC Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the team to ensure that young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) receive the best possible education and care.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the EHCP process, co-producing EHCPs and ensuring young people are placed in appropriate educational provision.
- Monitor the progress of children and young people against the outcomes of their EHC Plan.
- Ensure that the approach laid out in the 2014 Children and Families Act and Code of Practice are adhered to in the most effective and efficient way.
- Work sensitively and carefully with parents, children and young people by acting as the single point of contact and ensuring their wishes and feelings are considered in the EHC Process.
- Assist in the delivery of casework in relation to the statutory assessment of children and young people with special educational needs.
About You
We are looking for individuals who are committed to Trafford and the young people who live here. You will need to be organised, an excellent communicator and able to build strong relationships with young people, their families and other stakeholders.
You will be required to be solution-focused, thinking creatively with regards to the education provision. You will also need to be IT-literate and able to use various packages.
The successful candidate will hold a Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, have 2 years minimum experience of working in a similar environment with or for children or young people with SEN and significant experience of complex administration processes and their management.
Detailed knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice (2015), the Children's and Families Act and current processes and legislation is essential for this role.
