Business Development Manager

We are seeking an experienced New Business and Partnerships Manager to join our team at WHG. As a key member of our business development team, you will be responsible for establishing and managing partnerships, securing new business opportunities, and driving growth across our 350-home-a-year programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and manage partnerships with public and private sector organizations to deliver new development schemes and funding innovations.
- Lead on liaison with local authorities, NHS trusts, and other public sector bodies to identify new business opportunities and secure site acquisitions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with private sector partners to deliver excellence and ensure great governance.
- Evaluate the quality of potential development opportunities and bring forward partnership schemes in accordance with internal procedures and financial regulations.
- Demonstrate awareness of current and future market conditions, trends, and construction and development opportunities to drive development-related growth.
Requirements:
- Entrepreneurial spirit and sound commercial mindset, embracing change and comfortable making difficult decisions in an ambiguous environment.
- Strong project management skills and experience in negotiating Heads of Terms and legal contracts.
- Ability to assess and report on commercial aspects of project performance and escalate as appropriate to secure new opportunities.
- Experience of assessing scheme viability and risk issues with a strong commercial awareness of maximizing scheme profitability or leveraging in relevant grant funding streams.
