About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Freight Business Development Manager to lead the expansion and growth of our freight business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for identifying business opportunities, cultivating relationships with customers, negotiating contracts, and developing strategies to enhance our position in the freight logistics industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective strategies for air and sea freight services
- Collaborate with customers to optimise freight routes and ensure cost-effective shipping solutions
- Identify and target potential customers for freight services
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers
- Develop and maximise revenue opportunities and leads by pursuing undeveloped areas
- Prospect new business opportunities
- Work towards achieving individual sales targets and KPIs
- Implement sales strategies to achieve revenue targets and business growth
- Closing deals and securing contracts
- Conduct thorough market research to identify global opportunities & trends in freight logistics
- Analyse industry data, shipping routes, market dynamics and competitor activities
- Prepare weekly/monthly figures of sales activity
Requirements:
We are looking for someone with proven experience in air/sea freight business development, sales, or related field who demonstrates proficiency in navigating market dynamics and industry trends. Exceptional negotiation and communication skills are essential, along with the capacity to cultivate and sustain client relationships. You will have a results-oriented mindset, emphasizing the attainment and surpassing of sales objectives. You will be a strategic thinker and have strong problem-solving skills, complemented by proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM software. Flexibility for travel and holding a UK driving license are essential. Experience in logistics sales and a degree in business or marketing are desirable but not mandatory.
