Assistant Manager Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team at Farmfoods in Weston-super-Mare, Somerset.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Shop Manager to run an efficient shop and provide excellent customer service.
  • Develop and lead a team of Retail Assistants through coaching, mentoring, and providing feedback.
  • Be accountable for the shop in the absence of the Shop Manager, ensuring customers are looked after, deliveries are processed quickly, and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean, and tidy shop.
  • Motivate and guide the team to control operational costs, including shrinkage, waste, and payroll.
  • Support the Shop Manager with recruitment and induction of new team members.
Requirements:
  • A friendly, positive, and hardworking approach to work.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Trustworthiness and reliability, as you will be an important part of a small team.
  • Previous experience as a manager, team leader, or supervisor.
