Senior Accountancy Practice Director Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Accountancy Practice Director to join our boutique accountancy firm in South Belfast. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of accountants and tax advisers who provide a range of services to our clients, including audit, tax, bookkeeping, payroll, and business advisory.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the mixed practice, including staff supervision, workload allocation, performance review, and training.
  • Develop and execute the firm's business plan and budget, in alignment with the firm's vision and values.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, as well as maintain and grow existing client relationships.
  • Ensure the delivery of high-quality and timely services to clients, in accordance with professional standards and best practices.
  • Monitor and manage the financial performance and profitability of the mixed practice, as well as the firm as a whole.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to staff and clients on complex accounting and tax issues.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders, such as regulators, auditors, banks, and other professionals.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Professional qualifications, such as ACA, ACCA or CTA.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a senior management role in an accountancy practice, preferably with exposure to both audit and tax.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and accounting software.
  • Knowledge of Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage would be an advantage.
