Main Responsibilities:
As a Project Engineering Specialist, you will play a crucial role in:

  • Performing the Project Engineer function within the Engineering Department, providing essential support for all crane, lifting, and service activities.
  • Engaging with clients directly to enhance our sales efforts, particularly focusing on target customers outlined in our business strategy.
  • Assisting in the preparation and management of business unit budgets, collaborating with the Engineering Manager to identify growth opportunities.
  • Participating in quarterly performance evaluations with management to assess departmental service effectiveness and business unit performance.
  • Promoting and maintaining effective communication with Client representatives during site or offshore visits.
  • Providing administrative and technical support for all service area activities within the business unit.
  • Ensuring accurate compilation and monitoring of information related to all assigned projects.

Project Engineering Duties:
Your role will encompass a comprehensive range of Project Engineering responsibilities, including:

  • Preparation of proposals and tenders.
  • Administration of project documentation.
  • Liaison with clients and subcontractors.
  • Development of calculations and work procedures.
  • Completion of purchase requisitions.
  • Coordination of equipment dispatch and logistics.
  • Compilation of project close-out reports.
  • Preparation of engineering invoice drafts and financial oversight of assigned projects.

Essential Qualifications:
Applicants should have:

  • A relevant HND, BSc, or BEng (Hons) in Mechanical, Electrical, PLCs, or Hydraulic disciplines, or equivalent hands-on experience of 5+ years in a relevant trade.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • Proficiency in managing commercial and administrative aspects of the role.
  • A meticulous and motivated approach to professional tasks.
  • Strong technical writing skills and proficiency in MS Office applications.

Desirable Qualifications:
Preferred candidates may have:

  • Professional accreditation with a recognized institute.
  • Experience with cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Background in heavy plant and/or maintenance environments.
  • Previous experience in a project engineering setting.
