About the Role: Head of Drama

We are seeking a passionate and experienced individual to lead our dynamic drama department. As Head of Drama, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the artistic development of our students from Key Stage 3 to A-Level.

  • Curriculum Development & Delivery: Design and implement an engaging and inclusive drama curriculum that ignites passion and creativity in students.
  • Production Direction: Direct and produce school plays, performances, and events, showcasing the talents of our students.
  • Departmental Leadership: Lead and manage the drama department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning. Mentor and support drama teachers within the team.
  • Collaboration & Community Engagement: Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and achievement. Collaborate with other departments to promote the performing arts across the school. Maintain and develop links with external arts organizations and the local community.

About You:

  • Hold a degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, or a related field.
  • Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with substantial experience in teaching drama.
  • Demonstrate proven leadership skills and experience in managing a department or team.
  • Exhibit a genuine passion for drama and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Possess strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Show a commitment to extracurricular activities and the wider school community.
