About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Category Buyer to join our Digital & IT Category team at Shared Services Connected Ltd. As a Category Buyer, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Public Sector Procurement team in implementing strategic sourcing, developing customer relationships, and strengthening relationships with existing key suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for collaborators of all levels, providing support and assistance in an efficient and timely manner to establish and build on existing relationships.
  • Deliver a strategic procurement and commercial service for our Public Sector organisation client partners with an allocated portfolio of categories.
  • Support the Category Managers with collecting and analysing data to help predict forecasts and trends, handling and processing customer feedback.
  • Support the wider team with general administrative and tasks.
  • Future-proof contract decisions by conducting robust research and fact-based market intelligence to support the adoption of innovation, evaluation, and supporting the evaluation and award process.
  • Support the end-to-end tender process, ensuring all parties are well advised.

Requirements

  • Experience of working within a procurement setting.
  • Experience of handling a shared mailbox.
  • Excellent IT and Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, and Outlook).
  • Data input/extract experience.
  • Collaborator management.
  • Project management.

Desirable Skills

  • CIPS or willingness to undertake.
  • Experience and/or knowledge of working with the NHS and/or Public Sector.
  • Knowledge of Procurement Contract Regulations 2015 and New Procurement Act 2023.
  • Knowledge/experience of Procurement ERP systems, eSourcing tools.
