Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Chelsea Hall School. As an independent special school for students aged 4-11 with mild to moderate, complex learning needs, we are committed to providing exceptional educational support.

Role Overview:
  • Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
  • Location: Wandsworth, London
  • Salary: £21,000 - £24,000 per year
  • Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Responsibilities:
  • Support the educational, social, and emotional development of students with special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering tailored learning activities.
  • Provide one-to-one support for students with SEN to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student development.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • Prior experience working with children with SEN is desirable.
  • Understanding of the needs of students with SEN.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
Working Conditions:
  • Full-Time, Monday to Friday.
  • Work may involve physical activities such as assisting students with mobility or personal care.
