We are excited to present a unique opportunity within the Financial Accreditation Team (FA Team). This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in a project-driven environment and are eager to enhance their understanding of HMRC's financial systems and procedures.

Role Responsibilities

As a key player in our dynamic project landscape, you will be responsible for:

  • Building and nurturing relationships while providing expert guidance to facilitate the successful transformation of HMRC's financial systems and processes.
  • Defining financial requirements for various change initiatives and ensuring their successful implementation.

This position plays a crucial role in enabling HMRC to manage financial transactions in alignment with strategic objectives and accounting standards. It presents an exceptional opportunity to cultivate essential leadership, assurance, and collaboration skills.

Team Dynamics

You will become part of a supportive and knowledgeable team of accreditors, well-versed in tax and finance accounting systems. Your role will involve acting as a liaison for Risk, Controls, and Financial Accounting (RCFA), ensuring that change requirements are met and rigorously tested.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Representing RCFA in project environments, driving forward our financial requirements.
  • Influencing the financial accreditation process as our team adapts to the evolving landscape of HMRC.
  • Developing skills to foster cooperative partnerships with project teams to ensure a comprehensive understanding of finance requirements.

While prior accounting experience is not mandatory, familiarity with accounting principles and systems will be beneficial.

Professional Development

We are committed to your continuous professional growth. This role offers opportunities to learn and expand your expertise, enabling you to reach your full potential.

Key Competencies

We will support you in developing your skills to lead the accreditation of smaller, lower-risk changes, and collaborate with senior officers on more complex, higher-risk changes. You will engage with a diverse range of subjects across HMRC.

Your tasks will include:

  • Maintaining ongoing engagement with project teams throughout the change cycle to manage risks and issues effectively.
  • Collaborating with a team of experts to ensure that financial requirements are met.
  • Providing updates and summaries to assist senior management in decision-making processes.

Essential Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts clearly.
  • Proficient in managing multiple deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Adept at analyzing information and making informed recommendations.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in a project change environment.
  • Knowledge of taxation principles.
  • Understanding of accounting and project management methodologies.

Benefits
