Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at Tara Professional Recruitment Ltd.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will assist in interactive learning, promote personal development, and ensure the curriculum is achieved for the best possible outcome for students within our SEN schools.

Under the instruction and guidance of teaching staff, health staff, and other professionals, the SEN Teaching Assistant will undertake educational activities and attend to the education, personal, and social needs of students to support their learning and development and ensure their safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build good relationships with children, teachers, and parents
  • Cope with challenging behaviors
  • Encourage engagement and inclusion
  • Think in a solution-focused way
  • Strive for quality of best practice
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with Special Educational needs or within the care sector
  • Motivated
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the post
Desirable Qualifications:
  • NVQ level 2 Teaching assistant or Level 2 in health and social care
  • Experience in working in an education environment
  • Makaton
  • Moving & handling trained
