Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at Academics. As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with SEND.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEND, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation, delivery, and assessment, ensuring that students with SEND receive the support they need to access the curriculum.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies to support students with SEND, including behavior management and communication plans.

Requirements:

  • Good time management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities, with a flexible and patient approach.
  • Experience working with students with SEND, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
