**About the Role**

We are seeking an experienced Transport Planner to join our reputable team at WR Logistics. As a Transport Planner, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our fleet utilization and ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Routing and Scheduling: Plan and optimize routes for HGV vehicles to maximize fleet utilization and reduce costs.
  • Backload Management: Arrange backloads and minimize empty mileage to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Geographical Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge of geographical routes and driver regulations in the UK.
  • Dispatch and Debriefing: Dispatch and debrief drivers, ensuring they have the necessary information and resources to complete their tasks efficiently.
  • WTD Knowledge: Demonstrate solid knowledge of Working Time Directive (WTD) regulations.
  • Liaison and Coordination: Liaise with agencies to book drivers, coordinate emergency responses, and resolve road incidents.
  • Customer and Colleague Liaison: Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues to ensure seamless operations and cost-effective solutions.
  • Administration and Compliance: Complete all administrative tasks, ensure accuracy of information, and maintain company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Experience: 3-4 years of planning experience is essential.
  • Certifications: CPC Certificate is desirable.
  • Backload Experience: Obtain backloads experience to optimize fleet utilization.
  • TMS System Knowledge: Familiarity with Transportation Management System (TMS) is required.
  • Work Schedule: Work 1 in 4 Saturdays on a rota.
