About the Role
Advance TRS is experiencing significant growth in the Transmission & Distribution sector, driven by the successful acquisition of numerous major projects. To meet the increasing demand for top-tier engineering design, we are looking for a Senior Protection Engineer to enhance our talented team.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Protection Engineer, you will collaborate closely with the Discipline Lead and ensure that your team's output meets the highest standards of quality and consistency. Your role will involve:
- Creating and managing technical documents and drawings.
- Assisting in the bid process to secure new projects.
Your Contributions
In this position, you will:
- Design and develop single line diagrams, key line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications for high voltage projects (11kV - 400kV).
- Oversee project deliverables through a thorough checking process.
- Support CAD technicians in the development of drawings and project execution.
- Mentor junior engineers and assist them with their technical assignments.
- Prepare, review, and endorse feasibility studies, technical reports, and detailed design documents.
- Coordinate teams of engineers and external partners to ensure timely and budget-compliant project delivery.
What We Seek
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:
- Qualifications: A minimum of a BEng/BSc in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Power/HV. An MEng/MSc is preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in software such as MathCAD, ETAP, DigSilent, PSS/E, and ERACS, along with experience in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Experience: A solid background in protection and control design for high voltage projects, with familiarity with IEC standards and technical specifications from major clients.
- Attributes: A proactive and mature approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
