Senior Town Planner Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Town Planner to join our Infrastructure Planning team. As a Senior Town Planner, you will play a key role in supporting and delivering clients in securing consent for major infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organize and manage work in a professional and responsible manner, collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary planning, land, and environmental teams.
  • Assist in preparing consent applications, including applications under the Town and Country Planning Acts, Planning Act, and other relevant legislation.
  • Project management with effective budgetary control, including desk studies, research, data management, and report writing.
  • Support commercial roles, such as time, fee, and cost estimates, bid preparation, and presenting to tenderers.
Requirements:
  • Degree-level qualification in town planning.
  • Postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject.
  • Experience of delivering planning consents for infrastructure projects, working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of the UK planning system, gained in either a local authority or private sector setting.
