About the Role
The Rakyan lab's research focuses on the genetic and epigenetic regulation of mammalian Ribosomal DNA (rDNA), utilizing cutting-edge molecular biology tools and high-level computational approaches to investigate the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms involved in rDNA biology. Our research aims to understand how genetic variation within human rDNA influences the development of diseases, including cancer, and uncover the evolutionary history of rDNA variation.
About You
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced researcher with a PhD in a relevant field, such as computational biology or bioinformatics. The successful candidate will have expertise in R, Python, Java, Matlab, C, and MySQL, as well as experience in GWAS analyses, whole-genome sequencing analyses, epigenomic and transcriptomic computational analyses. A strong publication record and ability to supervise junior lab members are essential.
