We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Starter Clerk at ABC Chambers Solutions. As a key member of our administrative team, you will provide essential support to our clerking team, ensuring the smooth operation of our practice management service.
Key Responsibilities- Assist senior clerks in conducting their duties and general administration of Chambers
- Organize the distribution of post and DX each morning
- Take post to the post office daily and DX
- Deliver mail for members of chambers in the local area
- Deliver skeleton arguments and authorities bundles to courts and other chambers
- Take documents to and from various courts and solicitor offices
- Organize papers throughout chambers
- Organize papers for offsite storage, liaise with the shredding company, and maintain the cellars
- Update records on Lex
- Organize internal and external storage areas and assist with keeping a list of all documents stored
- Photocopy and scan/print documents
- Ensure all photocopiers and printers are stocked with paper and perform daily checks
- Obtain and compile bundles of authorities/research on electronic subscriptions and at libraries/online
- Check the Court List daily and inform personnel about court listings and appointments
- Undertake personal duties for members of chambers when time allows
- Assist with setting up conference rooms
- Assist with making refreshments for meetings
- Ensure all members have the correct robes and organize laundry and dry cleaning when necessary
- Clear conference rooms and return papers to barrister rooms
- Assist the Clerks room as directed
- Order and collect lunches
- Manage the books in Chambers, including keeping accurate records and collating/binding book parts
- Paying in cheques and dealing with petty cash as necessary
- Booking couriers, taxis, etc.
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively under pressure and demonstrate a strong attention to detail.
