Workshop HGV Technician

Are you an experienced HGV Technician looking for a new challenge? We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Workshop HGV Technician to join our team at Nationwide Platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect, repair, and maintain HGV and light commercial vehicles in a busy depot workshop
  • Carry out pre-delivery roadworthiness inspections (PDI) of machines at depot, ensuring compliance with manufacturer's specifications, company policy, and regulations
  • Repair machines at depot to ensure conformance with manufacturer's specifications and company policy
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance activities (PPM), including maintaining the appearance of the fleet to corporate standard
  • Handover machines to customers and familiarise them with safe machine operation in accordance with company procedures
  • Act as an ambassador for the company, providing a high standard of customer care and being polite and professional at all times
  • Accurately complete all relevant paperwork, including engineer's reports, off-hire, pre-delivery inspection, and service sheets
  • Update system on machine status changes, such as PDI carried out, machine under repair, or statutory inspection completed
  • Prepare vehicles (and trailers where applicable) for MOT test
Requirements:
  • Relevant HGV general maintenance qualification to level 3
  • Proven experience servicing and prepping vehicles to MOT standard
  • Understanding of the importance of compliance with statutory and company own policy service/inspection schedules relating to roadworthiness
  • HGV licence would be an advantage
