About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Tops Day Nurseries. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and cooking of meals and snacks, following a set menu.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and dicing ingredients.
  • Help to maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Support the cook in accommodating children's dietary needs and allergies.
  • Assist with serving food to children, ensuring appropriate portion sizes.
  • Wash up and clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and surfaces to maintain a high standard of cleanliness.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a nursery or school setting.
  • A Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or willingness to obtain one).
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for preparing healthy, nutritious meals for young children.
