Job Title: SEMH Year 5 Class Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to lead a Year 5 class at a well-established Special School in the Bath area. The school caters to students with Social, Emotional & Mental Health needs (SEMH) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

About the Role

This is a full-time, long-term position with full teaching responsibilities, including planning and marking. You will be supported by two Teaching Assistants and will be expected to lead them in developing their skills. The ideal candidate will have experience working with SEMH or ASD students and be confident in managing challenging behavior.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a Year 5 class with the support of two Teaching Assistants
  • Plan and mark lessons with adequate time for PPA
  • Deescalate challenging situations and manage classroom behavior
  • Contribute to all aspects of school life
