Role Overview:
This internship presents a unique opportunity to become part of a rapidly expanding, innovative, and highly skilled software engineering team. It is designed as a stepping stone towards a full-time Software Developer role within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Code Development & Documentation:
Write high-quality, well-tested code adhering to engineering best practices. Contribute to the enhancement and documentation of internal Python libraries, ensuring code integrity through unit testing and proactive issue reporting. - Portfolio Development:
Assist in integrating new fixed-income portfolios into our investment management platform, which includes data cleaning, validation, analysis, and reporting. - Client Data Analysis:
Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses of client data utilized in our platform, supporting the reporting requirements of both internal and external stakeholders. - Team Collaboration:
Engage actively in team meetings, retrospectives, and planning sessions, maintaining effective communication with team members to ensure alignment and progress on projects.
What You Bring:
- Academic & Professional Background:
A strong academic background with at least a 2:1 degree in a STEM field from a reputable university, or relevant bootcamp experience coupled with professional coding skills. - Technical Skills:
Proficiency in backend software engineering (e.g., Django, FastAPI), data analysis (e.g., pandas, numpy, plotly), or frontend development (e.g., React, TypeScript). A portfolio demonstrating your work in these technologies, including well-documented code and unit tests, is essential. - Additional Skills:
A foundational understanding of the finance industry, particularly in fixed income, is advantageous. An analytical mindset coupled with effective problem-solving skills is required. Familiarity with Excel is beneficial but not mandatory.
