Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist

Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract, Fixed term contract

Contract Length: Ongoing

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00-17:00

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team in South London. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide clinical leadership and diagnostic assessments and treatment to service users with severe, complex, and high-risk psychiatric conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess patients by reviewing their mental and physical health, their background and current social situation, thoughts and past health issues, as well as any potential risk factors.
  • Decide on suitable psychiatric treatment plans for patients, which often include a mix of psychological, medical and social interventions in conjunction with other health professionals.
  • Work closely within, or lead, a multidisciplinary team of health professionals, including psychiatric nurses, psychologists and occupational therapists.
  • Supervise and teach junior medical staff.

Requirements:

  • Excellent knowledge of physiology, anatomy, psychology, pharmacology and mental health law, as well as an awareness of the social factors that influence mental health.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
