Registered Building Surveyor

Professional Technical Ltd is seeking a qualified Registered Building Surveyor to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in fostering relationships with clients while providing expert guidance on building regulatory frameworks and conducting thorough site evaluations.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with the design and construction teams to assess proposals for high-rise, residential, and intricate commercial projects.
- Supervise the building control processes for complex developments, including care facilities, hospitality venues, and student housing.
- Facilitate the introduction of innovative products and services as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards (ISO9001) and compliance with all relevant legislation in partnership with the Risk and Compliance Team.
- Promote best practices in risk management initiatives and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.
- Conduct restricted activities in line with the Registered Building Surveyor Code of Conduct for assigned projects, ensuring compliance with building regulations and construction standards.
- Mentor and support junior technical staff to maintain high service standards across all aspects of the Building Control function.
- Assist the Building Control Manager in delivering exceptional building control services.
- Represent the organization professionally and manage projects effectively.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to clients and junior team members.
- Optimize inspection schedules to align with plan review requirements.
- Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure effective communication with clients and their representatives.
- Develop and manage relationships with key clients to enhance business growth.
- Evaluate applications and participate in team meetings, training sessions, and seminars.
- Engage in negotiations with clients and act as a coach for staff in training.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Strong leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- Professional qualifications/membership with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors or MCABE.
- Current Specialist Technical Class 3 Registered Building Surveyor (RBS) status.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, technical guidance, and Building Safety Regulatory requirements.
- Understanding of fire safety and health and safety regulations.
- Familiarity with the construction design process and RIBA Stages of work.
- Experience in ensuring compliance with Building Regulations across various building types and projects.
- Proficiency in managing site inspections and assessing safety and risk.
- Strong relationship management skills across all teams and stakeholders.
- A valid UK driving license.
