Job Title: Duct Fitter - Contract

We are seeking an experienced Duct Fitter with a strong background in plastic ductwork installation for residential projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plastic duct systems within residential buildings, ensuring they meet the highest standards of safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install plastic duct systems, including PVC and other materials, in residential buildings, ensuring efficient and safe installation.
  • Plan and execute duct routing through walls, floors, ceilings, and other confined spaces in residential settings, adhering to project specifications.
  • Measure and cut plastic duct to precise lengths, ensuring correct sizing for the project, and join ductwork using solvent welding and mechanical connections.
  • Carry out inspections and testing on completed ductwork to ensure systems are functioning properly, and collaborate with other trades to coordinate ductwork installations.
  • Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and meets project requirements and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a duct fitter, specifically working with plastic ductwork in residential projects.
  • Strong understanding of ventilation systems and plastic duct materials, including PVC, uPVC, and other common types used in ductwork.
  • Technical Skills: Ability to read technical drawings and specifications related to ductwork installation, and proficiency in using hand and power tools related to duct installation.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot issues with duct layouts, sizing, or obstructions during installation.
Working Conditions:
  • Capable of working in confined spaces, lifting ductwork, and standing for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license required as travel to residential sites may be necessary.
  • CSCS Card required.
