An exceptional opportunity has emerged for a skilled Recovery Nurse or Non-Medical Prescriber Nurse (NMP) to become part of a CQC Outstanding rated Substance Use Service.

Our integrated community service focuses on supporting individuals dealing with substance use challenges. We operate through various hubs and also collaborate with healthcare providers to deliver essential services. You will be an integral part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team, including Doctors, Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Support Workers, Counsellors, and Peer Mentors, all dedicated to enhancing the well-being of diverse service users. Our nursing team is robust and is led by a Nurse Manager committed to continuous professional development across our services.

Key Responsibilities

In collaboration with a team of Recovery Workers, you will prescribe medications for service users receiving opiate substitute therapy and oversee community alcohol detoxification processes. As a Recovery Nurse, you will conduct well-being clinics in the community, offering Blood Borne Virus testing and vaccinations, while also managing community detoxifications and implementing harm reduction strategies. In addition to clinic responsibilities, you will facilitate multi-disciplinary meetings with Recovery Workers, ensuring effective governance and fostering their professional growth. Regular prescribers meetings, one-on-one clinical supervision, and access to national prescribers and clinicians meetings will support your ongoing learning.

As part of our team, you will benefit from resources such as RCNi for revalidation assistance, indemnity insurance, and support from our Clinical Operations Manager, Clinical Lead, and Chief Pharmacist.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council or be a qualified Non-Medical Prescriber Nurse (NMP), with confidence in managing opiate prescriptions and alcohol detoxification processes.
