Overview:

Are you a skilled English Teacher with a proven track record in effective classroom management and student engagement?

We are currently seeking a dedicated English Teacher to provide innovative and inspiring lessons tailored to students within an Alternative Provision environment. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and strong classroom management skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement customized lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Work collaboratively with the school's Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) team and other professionals to develop and execute individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Employ a variety of teaching methods, resources, and assistive technologies to engage students and enhance their learning experience.
  • Modify and differentiate instruction to accommodate various learning styles and abilities, providing necessary support or challenges.
  • Utilize effective behavior management strategies to foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation and respect.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress through continuous observation, formative assessments, and personalized targets, offering constructive feedback and support.
  • Maintain open communication with parents/guardians, fellow educators, and support staff regarding student achievements and developmental areas.
  • Collaborate with external specialists, such as speech and language therapists, to address students' specific needs.
  • Keep detailed records of student progress, achievements, and any interventions or accommodations made.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance your skills in supporting students with special educational needs.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a SEND Teacher, ideally in a similar temporary role, with a comprehensive understanding of various special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in SEND education.
  • Capability to create and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Knowledge of diverse teaching resources, assistive technologies, and interventions for supporting students with SEND.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and external professionals.
  • Excellent organizational skills to manage and document student progress, assessments, and interventions.
  • Compassion, patience, and a supportive approach to foster students' social and emotional growth.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work with a wide range of students and their unique requirements.
  • Successful completion of background checks and any other necessary screenings as required by the recruitment agency and the educational institution.
