Principal Cloud Network Engineer
About the Role
Mimecast is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Network Engineer to join our Global Cloud Platform team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and security of our Production Hybrid Cloud Network, which protects billions of emails every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and administer network devices, services, and components to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability.
- Proactively identify and resolve infrastructure issues, providing swift restoration to operational status and minimizing downtime.
- Maintain and optimize tools, automation, and Infrastructure as Code to manage and monitor the network.
- Deploy network changes to a Hybrid Cloud Network through automation and Infrastructure as Code.
- Provide exceptional support to internal Engineering teams by collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to support program delivery.
- Perform technical support functions for internal engineering teams.
- Identify improvements to runbooks, monitoring, and documentation.
Requirements
- Experience in a relevant technical role with excellent proficiency in maintaining and troubleshooting distributed networks in a Hybrid Cloud environment.
- Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining network infrastructure, both on-prem and in AWS with CloudFormation/Terraform.
- An in-depth understanding of networking principles and protocols.
- Natural creativity and resourcefulness, with an outstanding attention to detail.
