Technical Operations Manager

Alexander Steele Recruitment is partnering with a leading food manufacturer to find a skilled Technical Manager to join their team in Surrey.
The Role:
As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for implementing the technical and operational goals and strategy to ensure the business meets customer expectations for product quality, food safety, and legality. This will involve building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders, managing the technical team, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical team, including performance reviews, training needs, and objective setting
- Communicate and implement up-to-date policies and procedures to operational teams
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers and suppliers, responding to complaints and queries in a timely manner
- Ensure adherence to hygiene and H&S requirements, following company policies and procedures
- Maintain knowledge of company procedures and control standards
- Monitor and manage technical processes, product standards, and quality control programs
- Ensure the technical function is cost-effective and resourced appropriately
- Collaborate with senior management to implement company policies and business objectives
Requirements:
My client is seeking an experienced Technical Manager with a background in the food manufacturing industry. You should have a strong track record of leading, motivating, and driving continuous improvements while upholding the business's values and principles.
- A minimum of 2 years in a Technical or Quality Management position with customer and supplier-facing experience
- A Food Science degree is desirable
- HACCP Level 3 +
- Lead Auditor or equivalent experience
- Good knowledge of BRC
