We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Midwife to lead our Quality and Safety initiatives in maternity care. The successful candidate will be responsible for crafting work programs to align with national and local performance frameworks, and will provide expert knowledge and advice on quality and assurance requirements.
Main Responsibilities- Provide strategic and operational leadership for Quality Improvement and Transformation in maternity care, focusing on safety and quality.
- Develop and implement work programs to align with national and local performance frameworks.
- Provide expert knowledge and advice on quality and assurance requirements, including relevant legislation, national and local agreements, terms and conditions, and policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Governance team, Gynaecology, and Paediatric services to ensure seamless integration of quality and safety initiatives.
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of governance, risk management, and assurance functions, as well as current NHS national policies, standards, requirements, and directions.
- Registered Midwife, eligible to practice, educated to Degree level.
- Patient Safety Incident Response training.
- Significant experience in leading/managing clinical governance/quality assurance within a healthcare organization.
- Master's level study on Midwifery, risk-related, or clinical governance-related topics.
- Teaching qualification and/or experience.
- Presentation skills and experience.
- Project management experience.
- Budget management.
